My Resolutions for 2023

Well, this post will be my last blog post for 2022. Therefore, I think it will be best to make this post a New Year's resolutions post. I will post my resolutions for the next year (if the Lord grants a new year) so that it may motivate both myself and my readers who trust only in the Lord Jesus Christ (i.e., my Christian readers) to trust, love, and follow Christ. Before listing these resolutions, I'll note here that I intend to do these things by reliance on Christ, not my own power (as if I had any ability of my own). And you MUST do the same, reader, if you want to succeed in fulfilling these resolutions, doing them and doing them for God's pleasure and God's glory.

Resolution #1: I will trust ONLY the God of the Bible, NOTHING ELSE. Because He, and He only, is Truth.

Resolution #2: I will turn away my confidence and affections from all created things and center them on the Creator alone.

Resolution #3: I will trust ONLY in the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did to save me from both my sins and the eternal punishment I deserve for my sins, as well as to make me right with God.

Resolution #4: I will embrace "Christian" as my sole identity.

Resolution #5: I will embrace "slave of God" as my sole vocation.

Resolution #6: I will make the Bible, God's Word in written form, the sole Rule by which I live my life.

Resolution #7: I will relate to Christian teachers as representatives of God ONLY insofar as their teachings accord with Scripture. I WILL NOT rely on Christian teachers, no matter who they are or what their standing is, as my ultimate authorities.

Resolution #8: I will use God's Word as the Model for my communication, in all forms of communication.

Resolution #9: I will commit all the good works I want to do to God in prayer, entreating Him to fulfill these desires in me.

Resolution #10: Making God known will be the purpose of all I do.
