Veterans

Since Veterans' Day was last week, I think this would be a good time for doing a post where we can see God's greatness in veterans (though I apologize for not doing it the week of Veterans' Day).

There are at least two ways to see God's greatness in veterans: 1) believing and meditating on God's creative and providential work in soldiers and 2) believing and meditating on God's work of making the Christian a soldier in His Son and for His Son.

First, God created soldiers. Through them, He protects lands from enemies both outside and within their borders. Only God decides which side gets the victory. Therefore, we should thank God for all the good things we have because of His protective work through soldiers.

Second, God has made all Christians, those who turn from their sins and trust Christ only, soldiers in Christ and for Christ. By His Spirit, He has made them soldiers to advance and defend Christ's teaching. While countries' soldiers, as mentioned above, fight physically, Christians, as soldiers in Christ, fight spiritually with the spiritual weapon of God's Written Word, the Bible, which is the 66 Books of the Old and New Testaments.
