*Writing is a form of speech.
*All the commands of God about speech apply to writing.
*A Christian writing style is writing conformed to the speech of Christ and God's commands on speech, both being revealed by the Holy Spirit through the Bible.
*Christian writing is shaped, not by man's wisdom, but by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:4).
*Christian writing is characterized by grace and salt, answering every man in a right (i.e. Biblical) way (Colossians 4:6).
*Christian writing is "sound," unable to be condemned, causing opponents of Christ to be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of Him (Titus 2:8).
*Christian writing communicates truth out of the motive of love, which is defined by God's character (Ephesians 4:15; cf. 1 John 4:7-8). This truthful and loving writing's purpose is to grow Christians in Christ (Ephesians 4:15, again).
*Christian writing is not corrupt, but builds up people in God's Word. Christian writing ministers grace to its readers (Ephesians 4:29).
*Christian writing has Scripture as its authoritative model (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
*Christian writing teaches, reproves, corrects, and instructs in righteousness, equipping its readers for good works, which are those works God commands of Christians (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
*Christian writing can come in many forms. We see this in the fact that the Bible has many different kinds of literature (narrative, history, poetry, gospel, epistle, etc.-think also of the Bible's parables).
*Christian writing can come in different styles. We see this in the fact that the Holy Spirit directs the Bible's human writers to write their books in unique styles.
