*Journalism is the way one defines, finds, and reports the news.

*Christian journalism is journalism done under the Lordship of Christ, as He reveals Himself in His Word.

*The Christian journalist defines the news as events that are works of God in the world. All events are works of God, because nothing happens in creation apart from God (Matthew 10:29).

*The Christian journalist uncovers the news through Biblical ways of fact-finding.

*The Christian journalist reports the news according to the perspective of Christ Himself.

*The Christian journalist reports the news to glorify God, or to show who He is.

*When reporting on evil events, the Christian journalist shows how the evil in these situations are fruits of sin, which is disobedience to God (1 John 3:4). He also contrasts the evil in these sinful events to the goodness of God, so that people will see the separation between God and sin.

*Every person has a god (i.e. a standard of truth), which fundamentally shapes his journalism. His journalism, therefore, is a manifestation of his religion.

*Because the Biblical God is the true God (and therefore the true Standard of truth), only Christian journalism is true journalism.

*Because the command to not bear false witness is a Christian attribute (Exodus 20:16; Romans 13:9), lying, in all its forms, is not a characteristic of true Christian journalism.

*Lying in journalism can take at least two forms: 1) misrepresentation of the God who is Truth and 2) misrepresentation of the works of Him who is Truth, which works are all events.
