O God of the Bible,
O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
O my God by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,
How great is Your care for Your creation! You take care of birds and lilies, so how much more will You take care of Your people, those who trust and love You (Matthew 6:25-34)? Endless illustrations can be given of Your care for creation! One of these creatures[1] is the Meadow Vole, a mouse.
The glory of Your care can be illustrated in the Meadow Vole this way: in a woodland surrounding a city, there lives a large family of Meadow Voles. The city, tired of multiple Meadow Vole infestations, rallies around an extermination company which vows to rid the area of the rodents. The extermination company attacks the Meadow Vole family, killing them all. The only two mice who survive are a young married couple who manage to escape. Fearful and desperate for the survival of their family, they implore God for help. Providentially, they learn of a grassland that is perfect for a Meadow Vole couple to live and raise children in. They undertake a treacherous, long journey to this grassland. On the way, their faith in their Creator is tested by various internal and external obstacles. Despite all their hardships though, the Spirit of God sustains their faith, and they’re able to make the journey. Eventually, they reach the grassland. There, they give birth to and raise enough children to perpetuate their family.
Such, o God, is an illustration of Your care!
