God is Eternity

In the beginning, only God existed.

There are only two kinds of things: God and creation. God exists throughout all eternity, with no beginning and no end.

Consider then what eternity is! Since there is, as we call it, an “eternity past” when only God existed and no created thing existed, then eternity is not a created thing. Now, since only God existed in eternity past with no other thing, then eternity cannot be a thing distinct from Himself. Therefore, God is eternity. That is, eternity is an attribute of God. Eternity is not an impersonal and abstract thing, but rather eternity is the Triune God of the Bible, who is one God in the three Persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Biblical God's eternity means that He is the only One who always exists, without a beginning and without an end.

O Christian! O truster and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is God the Son in human flesh! Consider the God who is your God, the God who is eternity itself!
