Recently, on Sunday nights, my pastor has been preaching from the Book of Zechariah. Sunday night this week, my pastor talked about the fact that God communicated to Zechariah through visions and, from that fact, pointed out how God, in His Word, doesn't only communicate through propositional statements, but also through ways that we would often think of as "artistic," appealing to our imaginations.

One application from this insight is this: Christians speaking the truth to each other in love (Ephesians 4:25) not only includes communicating truth through propositional statements, but, imitating the example of God Himself in Scripture, also through language that appeals to the imaginations of one's hearers.

May this truth and its application be useful to you in your life, Christian reader!
