An Illustration of Christ's Sufficiency in the Establishment of a Christian Country

O God of the Bible,

O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,

O my God by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,

You, o Christ, are sufficient for all good works! By Your Spirit, You live in Your people as they trust and obey Your Word, so that they are fully equipped for all good works!

Your sufficiency for Your people can be illustrated this way: a band of Christian missionaries arrive on a tropical island and, by the Spirit of Christ, win the island to Christ. However, they realize that the island has no government to ensure justice among the people. So they set out to form a government among the people to establish justice. By Christ's Word, they draft a constitution, organize a government, set up a system of judges to judge the people's cases, establish a defense force, etc. After overcoming numerous obstacles, they establish a Christian government on the island, which punishes evil and praises good according to the Standard of Christ's Word (Romans 13:1-7). God is glorified by the whole island for 1) bringing salvation to the island and 2) establishing justice on the island.

Such, o Christ, is an illustration of Your sufficiency for Your people!
