A Prayer to be a Christian Intellectual and Artist

O God of the Bible:

The ungodly are waging war against You on two fronts: the intellectual front and the artistic front. The intellectual front is education, schools, universities, etc. The artistic front is books, poetry, music, films, etc.

O God, make me a soldier in this war! Equip me to think Biblically on all subjects, writing and publishing these thoughts to Your churches throughout the world! Do this so Your saints may be edified! Do this so Your knowledge may be disseminated throughout the world! Teach me to make all kinds of artistic works, so that I may display You through all these mediums! Do this so Your people will trust and love You more! Do this so darkness's captives will be enlightened by the light of Your beauty!

May Your intellectual and artistic forces, o God, overcome the ungodly's!
