One of the many popular sayings in atheist circles goes like this: "The best way to become an atheist is to read the Bible." The gist of this quote is that, when someone actually reads the Bible and considers what it says, the Bible will strike that person as obviously false, obviously irrational, and obviously immoral, resulting in that person disbelieving in the God of the Bible.
Now, what would be a good way for Christians to respond to this talking point? Well, first, get to know what standards of truth, rationality, and morality the atheist who is using this talking point is assuming (and remember to do this on a case-by-case basis, since atheists, just like other unbelievers, are divided by many different belief-systems). Second, use the basic epistemological, rational, and ethical knowledge that all people, whether believers or unbelievers, possess by virtue of being human beings, and therefore as images of God (Romans chs. 1-2), to demonstrate to the atheist you're interacting with how his assumed standards aren't sufficient standards in light of the basic facts about epistemology, rationality, and morality that he knows as a human being. Third, based off that demonstration, show him how his assumed standards, which he is using to judge the Bible, aren't legitimate ultimate ("ultimate" being the key word here) standards to judge the Bible by. Fourth, consider all the ways in Scripture (in both the Old and New Testaments) in which God proves Himself to be the sole true God, in contrast to all the other "gods" out there, and use those ways to demonstrate how the Biblical God is the only true God, and therefore the only true ultimate authority for truth, reason, and morality.
I know my answer is abstract, but the specifics will become clear as you put this advice into practice! Anyway, I pray this post will be a blessing!
